Two of the most famous 'crowd-pleasing' tunes from the ballet Coppelia are presented here, but also the introductory Prélude, and the linking section from the Mazurka to the Valse, which features some more elaborate solo moments. This gives choirs a few options for performance, depending on how long you wish to play for! The whole set is around 8'45, but the Prelude and Mazurka last around 5'10, and the Valse Lente alone around 2'00. Whichever bits you choose to play, this music is perfect for flutes, and the passages around the two major themes give more interest for all parts. (Some great low flute action in the Mazurka too!)
