CLP009 Sailing Winds - Pecora, P. J. Jr. (PDF DOWNLOAD)

£14.49

Sailing Winds is a lively piece for clarinet quartet. Using a play on words, Sailing Winds evokes images of sailing ships cruising the seas via the “sailing winds” that powered them. “Winds” also refers to the clarinets, also powered by wind! The spirited interplay between parts does seem to have a nautical flavour, and the piece also features some smoother ensemble sections, as well as solos for the bass clarinettist.  For a nautical-themed part of a program, Sailing Winds can be paired with the composer’s earlier work, The Sailor and the Sea.
