Kalendar Hall is the building that houses the music department at Exeter Cathedral School where the composer Stephen Tanner was Director of Music for many years, and these three satisfying pieces were written for the Cathedral School wind ensemble. They are ideal for a beginner wind group, and are very much influenced by jazz. Awareness of the strong rhythmic grooves implied by the music will help to ensure a really tight ensemble performance. The final piece of the set features finger clicks and whispered vocal sounds imitating a Hi-hat cymbal.
