P010 Sicilienne - v. Paradis, M-Th.

£12.99 – £15.99

Although this charming Sicilienne is perhaps the most famous composition attributed to the Austrian composer Maria-Theresia von Paradis, it may have been derived from a Violin Sonata by Weber. It was recently given a high profile performance at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, played by cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, and is also well known to flute teachers, having featured in the Grade 4 syllabus. The 1st flute takes the lead in this lilting flute ensemble arrangement in Bb major, but all players get the chance to play sections of the tune in the repeated sections, including the expressive alto and bass flutes!
